Times Herald-Record: Letter: If you value health, harmony and safety, vote for Delgado
The people of New York’s 19th Congressional District are different in many ways. We are men and women, young and old, immigrants and native born, black, white, Asian, Hispanic and blends of the above. We are from many different cultural and religious backgrounds.
Antonio Delgado is different from me in many ways. But I support him. He and I are more alike than different. We share the same values. He believes in the dream of racial equality and harmony in this country. So do I. He believes quality health care should be accessible and affordable. So do I. He believes too many people are killed by guns in this country and that sensible gun safety laws can change that. So do I. He believes rich people should pay their fair share. So do I.
John Faso, on the other hand, voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. He has voted to make it easier for seriously mentally ill people to own guns. Ninety percent of his votes in Congress support the Trump agenda of give to the rich, take from the poor, plunder the environment and demonize the immigrant in a country of immigrants. I urge fellow citizens of District 19: When you vote, remember what’s important. Remember your values.
