John Faso Doesn’t Understand the Upstate Economy
Statement from Antonio Delgado:
John Faso thinks the biggest issue for employers here in our district is trying to find qualified people to fill jobs. Just a few weeks ago I spoke with a Woodstock resident who has a Master’s degree and is still working three jobs just to make ends meet. Other people tell me they work a full time job during the day and a part time job at night just to pay their rent and support their family. Our economy has grown but wages remain stagnant. People aren’t earning a livable wage that used to be available here in upstate New York. Faso has also said that our upstate New York economy is “booming” and that Main Street businesses are telling him consumers are buying, they’re spending and that they’re more optimistic about the economy. People here tell me that couldn’t be further from the truth. In every county I hear people talk about feeling left behind and shut out by a system that doesn’t prioritize working folks. I am committed to bringing good paying jobs and opportunity back to our region, including new opportunities for a better future that span from Main Street to our farming communities. People here deserve a representative that will work for everyone and put their interests first.
